Anglian Marine Services was initially formed in 1994 by Malcolm Hustwith after being retired from the Merchant Navy for medical reasons. Malcolm was at sea for 25 years, was a tanker Ch Mate and holds a Masters certificate.----It is now one of a minority of marine recruitment agencies that is run by someone who has actually been to sea and is able to talk to merchant seaman on a level footing.----The agency deals mainly with shipping working with the offshore oil and gas industry, but also has clients who operate tankers (both deep sea and coastal), containerships, ferries, dredgers and tugs/workboats.----In addition to acting as a placement agency, it is also an employment agency for temps, and has seafarers on its payroll serving on a number of ships.----The agency is also following all the guidelines for agencies that are contained in MLC2006
