Central Gulf Steamship Corporation purchased its first vessel, the war built Liberty Ship SS Horatio Allen, which was later renamed Green Wave. Shortly thereafter, Central Gulf purchased its second vessel, the SS Ouachita Victory which was renamed SS Green Valley.
