SHIP MANAGEMENT IS THE BACKBONE OF OUR ACTIVITIES--The F. Laeisz Group was founded in 1824. The family-run shipowner with over 190 years of experience continues to have its main business interests in shipping, but is also active in trade, insurance, financing, real estate/land and a travel agency.----The F. Laeisz Shipping Group is one of the leading shipping companies in Germany with around 800 crew on board and about 80 employees ashore. The fleet of about 30 vessels managed by us has a size of more than 1.0 mio. TDW. The diversified fleet and the range of vessel types under ownership and management is the basis for a solid future of our company in spite of fluctuations in different markets. Our F. Laeisz Shipping Group operates container vessels, bulk carriers, PCTC´s, gas carriers, and research vessels. By continuous training and education the specialized know-how and experiences in these different markets are extended and handed over to younger generations. Quality and environmental protection standards are very important to us. Our company was audited successfully with the quality management system ISO 9001:2008 (since 1996), the environmental management system ISO 14001:2004 (as the first German shipping company in 1997) and since 2017 according to 18001 and 50001 by DNV GL. In 2008, the company has also been awarded the GL 5 Star Excellence Certificate. The “Company’s safety and environmental protection policy and declaration on its safety management system (SMS)“ describes the principles of our work relating to safety, security, quality and environmental policy. The achieved results regarding environmental care are summarized and assessed regularly in an environmental report.----Our aim is to meet the expectations and requirements of our customers at all times.
